Spray foam insulation cost?

Spray foam insulation costs FAQ's

The costs related to insulating using spray foam insulation will depend on a number of variables.

1.The first question is what type of spray foam insulation do you want to use?
If you are insulating your attic, roof, floor or walls then its open cell spray foam insulation that you'll need. If on the other hand you want to insulate a shed with metal or concrete roof and walls then its closed cell spray foam insulation that you'll need. Open cell spray foam expands to over 200 times its size filling every nook and cranny, it's used in applications that need to breathe. This prevents mould and damp forming as air is able to escape the structure while maintaining an airtight seal. Closed cell spray foam insulation's expansion is much less than open cell, it's not breathable and is not used in residential applications.
2. What is the size of the area that you want to insulate?
In order to estimate the cost we will need to know the area that you need to be insulated. This is usually calculated in meters square (m2). If you don't know the size of the area let us know what type of building it is, detached 3 bed bungalow etc.
3. Where do you live?
The longer it takes us to get to your property and return back to the office will add to the cost in terms of time and fuel costs.
4. How long does it take to complete the job?
The longer we spend on site the more labour costs are incurred, luckily we are super efficient and don't waste time so you will only pay for time spent doing the job.

The cost of spray foam insulation per m2 will depend on the type of foam you need, open cell or closed cell and the amount of foam required. The economies of scale apply, the more foam you use the cheaper the price.

Spray foam insulation is a polyurethane and if correctly applied it can last up to 80 years.

It depends on the amount of foam used and the area where the foam is applied but for an attic in a 3 bed home it can be as little as 3-5 years to pay back the costs.
